How can you design websites for free?

Answer: There are 2 aspects to the free design concept. At byfiona we teach website design on an individual basis and charge for the tuition. As we need a constant flow of new projects – the most effective way is to offer a free webdesign to the public. This way our pupils work in a ‘real life’ environment, with real questions, real tasks and real customers. Second, the majority of customers are so pleased with our work that they donate an amount to us.

- Are they any hidden adverts or links built in?

Answer: No. None whatsoever. If you wish, we set up advertising (Google Adsense) in your new website for you at no extra charge, all generated revenue stays with you.

- Is the website completely mine or do you have access later?

Answer: Once the design is completed, we ‘hand’ it over to you. You change the password and we have no further access to the website, components, etc.. It is your responsibility to maintain any passwords. We do not keep back-ups of your site. We do offer an optional  full maintenance service which is – OPTIONAL.

- How long does it take?

Answer: Depending on how complex your site is gong to be – for a standard website it will take approx one week from start to finish.

- Do I have to pay for the template and/or theme?

Answer: No. If you use our design or templates, there is no charge. If you decide to use buy a template to use or have seen ‘a theme’ you like, contact us first as we will most likely get a discount on your behalf. You have to register before you can see our templates.

- What happens if I need something changed later?

Answer: You can contact us and we will charge for work to be carried out. But you can use anybody else, or do it yourself.
